The local Arabian Bemco Contracting has been awarded a SR 2,139 million ($570 million) contract to build the 1,900-MW Al-Qurayyah Open-Cycle Power Plant in the Eastern Province. Under the engineering, civil construction and mechanical erection package, Bemco will install gas-fired turbines at the plant supplied by the GE Energy US. The client is Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
