Submitted Technical Proposal for Rabigh VI
|

Arabian Bemco Contracting Co. along with Hanwha Engineering & Construction submitted technical proposal for Extension of Rabigh Steam Plant Stage VI by 2,600 MW.
The plant utilizes four (4) conventional oil fired thermal generating units and BOP, each producing output of 600-650 MW and will be fired on heavy fuel oil with provision for future conversion to gas. The thermal plant will operate on a Conventional Reheat Rankine Cycle with the generated steam supplying multi pressure condensing turbo sets directly coupled to electrical generator. The electrical output will be exported to the grid through a new 380 kV GIS substation. The Project includes marine works for the intake and discharge, FGDs, ESPs and RO Plant.
Technical Proposal was submitted on Aug 20, 2008 and award is expected.

Arabian Bemco Contracting Co. signs Facilities Agreement for SR. 8.28 Billion to finance PP-10 in Riyadh

Jeddah August 4, 2008: Arabian Bemco Contracting Co. Ltd., the specialized contractor for building of power stations, industrial facilities and public utilities, has signed a S.R 8.28 billion agreement with a group of local banks. This is a multi-purpose facility for the construction of the (PP 10) Power Plant in Riyadh.
Under this contract, Arabian Bemco will construct and install approximately 2,000 MW at the new site for Power Plant No. 10 (PP10) on Alkharj Road 100 KM South East of the City of Riyadh. The power delivery will be in phases starting in month 20, which is a relatively short period where-by Bemco will utilize its distinctive experience in rush projects.
The signing ceremony of the facilities agreement took place in Jeddah on August 4, 2008. Henry Sarkisian, CEO of Arabian Bemco, and representatives of the six Lead Mandated Banks – Mutasim Mufti and Saad Ur-Rehman of Banque Saudi Fransi – The facility Agent, Khalid Fagih, of SAMABA Financial Group, the facility coordinator, and representatives of National Commercial Bank, Arab National Bank, Riyad Bank and Saudi Hollandi Bank signed the deal.
Sarkisian said that the company had expanded its activities to include the rest of the GCC states, not only in the area of construction but also in the area of business such as investment and development of infrastructure projects.

Dubai to invest US $5.45 billion to raise utilities capacity
|
|
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) is to sign contracts worth almost US $2 billion this year under a five-year plan to substantially raise water production and power generation capacities.
The five-year plan projects an expenditure of US $5.45 billion to meet the rapidly growing needs of various developments in the fast expanding city. Most of its new projects are aimed to be in full operation by 2010.
