Power Generation Projects
BEMCO experience and know-how in the power sector is unrivaled for its efficient and timely delivery projects.
BEMCO has participated in the implementation
of numerous, large, and prestigious Power Projects, ranging
from Conventional Steam Power Plants to Simple Cycle and to
Combined Cycle Technology. BEMCO has undertaken on an EPC basis
more than 16,000 MW of Power Generation Projects in the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia and in the Gulf Region.
The Riyadh (KSA) Power Plant No.9 (PP9) project is a typical example of BEMCO prowess in the Power Generation sector; the project with generation capacity of 2,800 MW, was built on an area of two square kilometers.
An Achievement to the Record
In early 2004, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded Arabian BEMCO Contracting Company a super rush project for 480MW extension to Power Plant No. 9 in Riyadh with an unimaginable and unprecedented schedule of seven and a half months. The contract was signed on 1st of February 2004 with first power delivered (120MW by July 15th) to meet the high power demand during the summer season. All other power delivery milestones were met culminating with the delivery of full power (480 MW) by mid September 2004.
Transmission and Distribution
BEMCO has executed over 25 High Voltage substations on EPC Basis up to 400 KV with 7,500 MVA Transformer capacity using Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) technologies. The scope of such projects has covered turnkey Engineering, Procurement, Erection, Testing, Commissioning, and Civil works.
Among its many projects, BEMCO has executed the 400 KV Substation in Aqaba, Jordon, which forms the first part of the station link interconnecting Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Turkey. In addition, BEMCO successfully completed two 380 KV substations in Hail and Taif, Saudi Arabia.
